Even in-person events are shifting towards local sourcing, from hiring local speakers to using nearby vendors, reducing the carbon footprint while supporting local economies. This growing emphasis on inclusivity shows that event organisers are becoming more compassionate and aware of individual needs.

Meaningful interactions

Another critical shift in delegate expectations is the need for connection and meaningful interaction. While traditional networking sessions still have their place, today’s attendees crave deeper, more authentic connections. Events are being redesigned to create opportunities for organic networking and conversations that go beyond surface-level exchanges. From the moment a delegate signs up for the event, there is an opportunity to create an engaging, branded experience. In the past, attendance numbers may have been the key metric, but today’s events require a more detailed understanding of engagement and satisfaction. The most successful events are those that can take this feedback and translate it into actionable insights, constantly refining and improving the delegate experience.
